A cinematic tradition is not typically Milanese, but recently, the Fondazione Scuole Civiche di Milano (Milan Foundation of Civic Schools), la Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Foundation of the Experimental Centre of Cinematography) and the Municipality of Milan have been working to create a Milanese centre of excellence in the media industry or rather, the cinematographic industry. It is a sector that is in continuous evolution and therefore is always in need of new professional figures. The goal of such organizations is actually training expert professionals in all aspects of the chain, from the conception through to production as well as high-level cinematographic and audiovisual distribution. For those seeking high-level training in sectors that are new to the market but at the same time connected with tradition - as is the case of the world of moving pictures - there is another opportunity available. Direction, screenplay, acting, photography, montage, sound technology, production, scenography, set and costume are only some of the subjects taught to future talents who will be able to choose between the various media genres of documentary cinema, fiction, animation film etc. Amongst the teaching staff there are some of the most famous professionals and this therefore facilitates the students in finding a good job after the conclusion of study.
