Milan is a city that offers enjoyment at all times of the day and the night. Starting in the morning, enjoy a frothy cappuccino with cocoa powder; then perhaps a stroll for window shopping throughout the city centre. In the same area, many art galleries display the latest avant-garde creations by famous or new artists.
Time flies amongst art and accessories, and soon it’s time for lunch! Many bars offer handy menus for all tastes, from the sophisticated bistrots in the Galleria, right through to the trendy Bar Bianco in Parco Sempione.
In good weather, it is pleasant to walk in the public gardens for a coffee, catching some sun and chatting with friends. Then there is the afternoon: an exhibition at the Triennale or at Palazzo Reale? Or a walk amongst bookshops in the city centre: some are very old, while others are modern. Some have designer furnishings and refreshments areas where you can have a snack. Other bookshops specialize in antique volumes.
In the evening, of course there is the “happy hour,” a very Milanese ritual. There is a wide range of choice as regards area and style: fashionable, alternative, visionary, creative or business-oriented! Later on, the evening comes to life with the spotlights of the stage and entertainment. Theatres open their doors: opera at La Scala, stand-up comedy at Zelig, modern productions at Teatro Arcimboldi, and so forth. For dinner, choice is equally extensive, ranging from a classic dinner at Savini, or at a creative cuisine establishment. For visitors who still have energy, there are hundreds of venues for dancing, chatting, and leaving the events of the day behind.
