1. HOW TO ACTIVATE THE TOURISM OPTION AND ITS LENGTH OF DURATION
The tourist services available with the Milano AmaMi Card can be activated:

When it is used for the first time on public transport. It will then last for the successive 48 hours.

At the time of the first museum entrance or exhibition. It will then last for the successive 48 hours.
The 48 hours of validity of the transport component are separate from those relative to the museum and exhibition component. For example: the AmaMi Card can be used for travel on the metropolitana line and surface public transport but it is not necessary to activate it at the same for entrance to the Castle Museums. This means that the use of the subway or the surface transport activates the transport option (48 hour time limit of free access to the public transport network in Milan) but not also the museum option which is activated starting from the first entrance with the AmaMi Card in one of the authorised structures of the circuit.
2. HOW TO ACTIVATE THE PAYMENT OPTION AND ITS LENGTH OF DURATION
The payment options of the Card, meaning the possibility of using the Milano AmaMi Card as an electronic purse for online or shop purchases that display the MasterCard and MasterCard PayPass symbols, are activated without charge upon request by the customer:

At the same time as the purchase, if carried out in one of the authorised branches or at the affiliated ATM Points.

At a later date, if the card has been bought at one of the authorised museums. In this case, the activation must be requested at one of the bank branches or ATM Points
and can be used after being charged up until the expiry date on the card. (see valid till).
The card can be charged up once only and with a limit of 150 euro at:

the authorised cash dispenser machines of the Intesa Sanpaolo circuit, using a debit or credit card or using cash in the 24 hour Casse Veloci (Rapid cash dispensers).

all the branches of the Intesa Sanpaolo bank circuit that issue the card if the card is to be charged with cash or with a debit from a current account at the same bank.

the sales points of authorised dealers, with credit cards issued by the banks of the group or by other banks.
3. WHAT IT CAN BE USED FOR
Milano AmaMi Card:

Entrances to the most important museums of the city amongst which the Brera Art Gallery, the "Leonardo da Vinci" Museum of Science and Technology and the museums of the Sforza Castle, just to cite a few.

Discounts for events and exhibitions at prestigious locations, for example, Palazzo Reale, Ambrosiana Gallery and the Milan Triennale

Access to the metropolitana and surface public transport

Discounted tickets for trips on the Navigli (canals)

Discounts on catalogues and merchandise at museum shops
